This policy explains what personal data DoThings Ltd collects when you visit this website, dothings.io, and what we do with it. The short version: this website does not track you.

Who we are

DoThings Ltd is the data controller for this website. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 11211584, and our registered office is 1 Tape Street, Cheadle, Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire, England, ST10 1BB.

For any question about this policy or your personal data, email support@dothings.io.

This policy covers the website only. It does not cover the app at app.dothings.io, which existing customers use: the app has its own privacy notice, which you can read in the app.

This website does not track you

  • We do not use cookies.
  • We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or social media plugins.
  • We do not store anything in your browser or on your device.
  • Every page, image, font and script is served from this website. Your browser does not contact any other company while you browse it.
  • We do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell or share visitor data.

Because nothing on this website needs your consent, you will not see a cookie banner.

What we do process

Delivering the website

This website is hosted on Firebase Hosting, part of Google Cloud. Like any website, it can only send you a page if your browser tells it where to send it. So each request your browser makes includes your IP address, the page you asked for, and technical details such as your browser type.

Google uses this information as our hosting provider, under contract to us, to deliver the website to you and to protect it from abuse. It runs on Google's global infrastructure. We do not keep logs of visits, and we do not use this information to identify you.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: we cannot show you the website without it.

When you email us

If you email us, for example from the "Contact" or "Get In Touch" links, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. Our email is provided by Google Workspace.

We use this only to reply to you and deal with your enquiry. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, or taking steps you have asked for before entering into a contract with us. We keep correspondence only as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and for our business records, then delete it.

Who we share data with

We share personal data only with:

  • Google, which hosts this website and our email, as described above. Google acts as our processor under its data processing terms.
  • Authorities, if the law requires us to.

Google may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where it does, its data processing terms include the safeguards UK data protection law requires for international transfers, such as the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct it;
  • ask us to delete it;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to how we use it;
  • ask for your data in a portable format.

To use any of these rights, email support@dothings.io. We will reply within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

This website links to other websites, such as the DoThings app and the sources credited in our blog posts. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this website handles personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If we ever add cookies or analytics, we will ask for your consent first.
